Boosters
HHS Girls Tennis – Turnover Notes 2013-14 to 2014-15
Before Season Starts / Offseason
This should be planned in August: Booster fundraising starts at homecoming in October. Typically, the girls staff a table and sell some merchandise (as do most other teams). In 2013, sold some leftover shirts that the team had available. Delaney has leftovers.
Offseason: captains should organize captains’ practices / Catz workouts
Plan for JV team. Check with Linda about funding from AD.
Website director: Alli Burton and Charlotte Bates
Booster treasurer 2014-15: Kristin Barrett
At Season Start
Before spring meeting, contact Linda for updated roster. Potentially returning players for 2014-15 are:

Lexi Linton
Claire Maisto

In 2013-4, communications between boosters and parents was not as good as it could be. Be sure to get emails for players AND their parents. Consider setting up a Yahoo! Group (or other similar facility) for players and another for parents.
Spring Organizational Meeting
Give talk to parents about their responsibilities:
· Snack/drink schedule (each parent expected to provide snacks/drinks at least once)
· Get parental emails
· Booster fee (was $75 in 2013)
· Pasta Parties
· Consider selling fan gear for parents as fundraiser
· Boosters have traditionally helped Linda with coordinating and paying for indoor courts in case of bad weather. Linda may be able to get some funding from the Athletic Director. Submit grant request for funding to Hingham Sports Partnership (got $350, after-the-fact, in 2013)
In season:
· Make sure that booster parents carry extra water. We should NEVER be short of water.
· Plan pasta party before first match to set tone. This party will probably need to be hosted by a captain’s family
· Alli Burton and Charlotte Bates should keep on top of snack schedule / reminders
· Make sure that parents are taking pictures of pasta parties, matches, etc. and sending them to Alli and Charlotte
· Early to mid-season, contact Mary Ellen Jones to arrange team photo. Be sure to coordinate with all coaching staff. This year, only seniors’ photos were taken for yearbook. JV should be included, as well as JV coach
· 3/4 through season, begin planning banquet and senior day (pick dates, coordinating with Linda). Think about year-end gifts for players and coaches.
· The Burtons have assumed responsibility for the wooden tennis ball signs. Prior to playoffs, make sure that they have an updated roster for balls so that they can be made and hung.
· At pre-playoff pasta party, consider having players make shirts to wear to school ahead of playoffs
Post Season:
· Execute banquet
· Succession: handoff to next year’s booster / captains parents / volunteers
